An about 1000-year-old ink painting by one of China's most prominent literati aces Su Shi is required to get US$51 million at selling-off, Christie's said Thursday as the work went on see in Hong Kong.
The Melody Administration fine art made by Su is "one of the world's rarest Chinese compositions," said the closeout house.
Entitled "Wood and Shake," the ink-on-paper handscroll delineates a mythical serpent-like the old tree with wilted branches and a sharp shake resting at its root.
The adaptable literati, otherwise called Su Dongpo is a standout amongst the most critical social figures in Chinese history and was a regarded researcher, artist, exposition author, painter, calligrapher, and statesman.
"The quantity of the works safely ascribed to him is not very many, likely just a few. They are to a great degree uncommon," said Jonathan Stone, delegate director for Christie's Asian workmanship office.
The 185.5cm-long parchment is engraved with calligraphy and the lyrics of four vital literati of the eleventh century in China, and furthermore shows the seals of 41 authorities.
The work of art will be on see until September 1 and will go under the mallet on November 26 as a component of Christie's Hong Kong Harvest time Deal.
Stone said the fine art is relied upon to pull in interests from outside China.

In 2010, "Dizhuming", a Chinese calligraphy look by Huang Tingjian—Su Shi's understudy—sold for $64 million at Poly Closeout in Beijing.
Hong Kong's sale houses have seen excited offering among Asian purchasers as of late, with offers of precious stones, depictions, and old pottery shattering world records.
An uncommon Qing Administration porcelain bowl enameled with poppies is relied upon to get $25.6 million at Sotheby's in October.
